Ali Margulius Counselling

Counselling / Psychology / Mental Health

With over 10 years of experience in counselling, teaching, and social support roles, I support individuals and youth navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is warm, grounded, and relational — rooted in the belief that meaningful change happens when we feel safe, heard, and understood.

Since childhood, creativity has shaped how I make sense of the world. Before becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I completed my BFA and BEd and spent years teaching and working closely with young people and families. Transitioning into counselling felt like a natural extension of my passion for meaningful one-on-one connection and supporting others in finding clarity and confidence within themselves.

Those close to me describe me as empathetic, real, and grounded. Drawing from my diverse life experiences, I bring deep empathy and a genuine understanding of the challenges people face. I meet clients where they are, honouring their lived experience while offering gentle guidance, emotional insight, and practical tools to help them feel more connected, regulated, and empowered in their lives.

I work from a trauma-informed, person-centred lens, prioritizing the therapeutic relationship above all. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed by anxiety, moving through grief or transition, or seeking a stronger sense of self, I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and steady support.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from The University of British Columbia and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in Vancouver, offering both in-person sessions and virtual therapy across BC.

I have a background in psychology, neuroscience, and clinical addictions. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in a range of mental health settings, including crisis response, recovery groups, and accessibility advocacy — experiences that shaped my belief that people don’t need to be “fixed,” but understood.

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed, humanistic, and attachment-based approaches. I see counselling as a collaborative process where insight and action meet. Clients can expect a balance of curiosity, honesty, and practical tools in our work together.
